ORTHOTICS

What is an orthotic?

An orthotic is a device that is specifically designed to help restore your natural foot function. When appropriately prescribed, orthotics may decrease pain in not only the foot, but in other parts of the body as well, such as the knees, hips, and back.

The feet can be described as the foundation of the body; they support the body when you stand, walk, or run. Feet also play an important role in protecting your spine, bones, and soft tissues from damaging stress as you move around. For these reasons, it is to no surprise that problems with our feet have consequences on the rest of our body.

The symptoms of poor foot mechanics may include:

  • Localized foot pain

  • Bunions, hammer toes, flat feet or high arches

  • Arch/heel pain

  • Leg/knee pain

  • Hip/back pain

Ask your chiropractor if custom foot orthotics can help you!
